October 2005

Prepare car for winter storage:

In the cold and snowy conditions we have here in Scandinavia, it is generally advisable to store you older 911 during the winter months. At a minimum to reduce the impact of salt and slush from getting into all the exposed (hard-to-reach) rust prone areas on these cars.

August 2005

Thatcham CAT2 Immobiliser:

To saticfy insurance requirements and increase vehicle security, a CAT2 Viper 106V immobiliser was installed.

August 2005

Installed new carpet and interior components:

Whilst the car had been mechanically maintained by the past owners, the interior was way beyond comfortable. This had been made worse by screen seals that had perished and were letting in water - there is nothing worse than the smell of damp rotting carpet in a car! Having had the seals replaced and the outside overhauled, we decide to give the interior of the care some attention.

Replaced steering wheel:

Shortly after picking up the car we started to notice the signs of a broken steering wheel, and took this opportunity to replace the traditional 4-spoke wheel with a more modern and smaller 930 one.

June 2005

Replaced rear reflector for Carrera model (with integral fog lights):

This project was driven by a number of reasons. First, the car did not have fog lights installed, and we felt it a beneficial installation. Secondly, we utilized the addition of two more lights as a way to get more braking lights. By installing a relay between the brake light circuit and the fog lights, we can utilize the additional fog lights as brake lights during normal weather conditions.

May/June 2005

Rust repair and glass out respray:

Work undertaken with help from our good friend Michael at Vintage & Classic Motor Vehicle Refinishers in Oxon.

March 2005

Replace in car audio system:

The car was purchased with a faulty radio casset audio system. It was decided that a CD player would be more appropriat - although not period correct. To stay brand correct we loacted and purchased a Porsche branded Becker CDR-22 along with the followign additional components:
.- Alpine MRP-F240 4-channel Amplifier
.- Alpine SXE 1350S Speakers
